Profile for Daniel Israel

I was exposed to music, sound and the entertainment industry almost before he could walk.  I grew up aspiring to be a successful Disc Jockey like my dad who was one of the first in South Africa in the late 60s.  I started my career at a young age – I played my first paid gig at 12yrs old (a barmitzvah) and played my first Wedding and started a club residency at 16yrs old (luckily nowadays I drive myself to my gigs!!)

Since then I’ve gained experience through several nightclub residencies over 20 years, played at hundreds of Weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, themed parties, sporting and stadium events to crowds of up to 50 000 people (the SA vs India 150 year T20 match at Moses Mabhida Stadium in 2011) and I’m privileged to have played to diverse audiences all over SA and beyond and met many awesome people.

I can play almost any style of music to almost any audience.  I like to meet with prospective clients or venues before a gig to get as much information as possible and find out what their requirements and expectations are, and then I do my best to use my music knowledge, skill and world-class sound and lighting to exceed them.

It’s a thrill for me to be able to play music to entertain different audiences at each function.  Contrary to the belief that DJs don’t play requests – I welcome the interaction and insight into what the audience may want to hear – after all I’m playing for the crowd not myself!

I use some of the best equipment available to ensure that speeches are always clearly heard without feedback issues; that clear detailed sound covers the dancefloor and other areas in a function venue where needed, and that effect lighting complements the look, mood and decor.  I can even provide a custom lighting show if required.

If you feel that great sound and music will be an important factor in the success of your function, I look forward to the opportunity of providing this for you!

Daniel

Profile for Greig Lupke

I have been involved in the industry for over 20 years. I started out, cutting my teeth on school gigs at the age of 15 and quickly moved into Weddings becoming a popular, sought-after wedding specialist. I have the ability to adapt to varied music tastes and relate to diverse crowds. Weddings are not just about the latest, but also the greatest tunes, a time when friends and family come together to celebrate your Big Day.

Having extensive knowledge of weddings, I have the inside track on how a really great evening plays out. I am always keen to assist with advice and planning on the music front, from music for the wedding ceremony to song ideas for the reception. Small touches like walk up tunes for the speech makers add an element of fun to the evening and help reduce those pre-speech jitters.

On the formalities front, the MC plays an integral part in your wedding day, but it is certainly daunting for someone who has never held a microphone before. I am able to assume the role of MC and keep the proceedings flowing smoothly.

DJing is not just about pushing play, the art is in being able to watch the crowd and select the right tune at the right time, it’s about being the consummate professional and being able to slickly transition between tracks, maintaining the momentum of the music and entertaining both young and old alike. I bring a wealth of knowledge, a knack of getting the crowd on their feet and most of all, a passion for people and DJing.
